Væringjar II develops control methods for cyber-physical systems that must continue useful operation after failures and irreversible physical damage.

Core idea

The damaged system is a new system.

The objective is not to restore an irreversibly damaged plant to its previous state. The control system identifies what remains, finds a feasible post-failure configuration, verifies the transition, and continues operation inside a reduced but useful envelope.
