Irreversible actuator damage

Executable baseline for a resource-dependent control model. The experiment asks what happens to integrity when control authority is irreversibly lost.

01

Question

Can irreversible resource loss push a still-running controlled system through structural, parametric and functional integrity regimes?

02

Model

A resource vector modifies the effective plant/control authority. Damage is applied as a one-way change; no repair process exists in EXP-01.

03

Fault

The declared actuator damage occurs at 5.00 s and produces an irreversible resource loss.

04

Observed transition

The run moves from nominal N to degraded K and then SK. Functional integrity decreases from 0.450898 immediately after the fault to 0.298923 at 5.03 s and reaches 0 at 14.52 s.

05

Meaning

The controller may continue issuing commands while the system crosses integrity boundaries. “Still running” is therefore not equivalent to “mission-valid”.

06

Limit

EXP-01 is a baseline, not proof that a supervisory reconfiguration strategy is better. Its plant mapping and disturbance profile are explicit synthetic assumptions.
